Very Distinguished Alumni

Carl Baugh

Dr. Baugh earned his Doctorate degree in Theology from LBU in 2005.  He is the founder and director of the Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas.  He is also a national and international lecturer on the subject of biblical creation.

Carl Baugh is the author of "Why Do Men Believe Evolution AGAINST ALL ODDS?," "Dinosaur, Scientific Evidence that Man and Dinosaurs Walked Together," and "Panorama of Creation."  He is also the author and narrator of the following videos: Creation in Symphony: The Evidence and Creation in Symphony: The Model.

Bob Cornuke

Bob earned his Ph.D. from LBU in 2005.  He is the president of the Bible Archaeology Search and Exploration (BASE) Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He has authored six books on biblical history relating to archaeological explorations.

Dr. Cornuke's explorations have included searching for the real Mount Sinai in Egypt and Saudi Arabia; exploring in Turkey with the late Jim Irwin for the remains of Noah’s Ark; tracing ancient Assyrian and Babylonian flood accounts in the Zagros Mountains of Iran; following the trail of the Ark of the Covenant through Israel, Egypt and the Ethiopian highlands; and searching the seafloor off the coast of Malta for the anchors from Paul’s ship wreck as recorded in Acts 27. He and his team have found what they believe to be, with reasonable certainty, all four anchors from Paul’s shipwreck.

Jack Eggar

Dr. Jack Eggar is a former missionary to South Korea and the Fiji Islands.  He has also pastored several churches as an assistant and a senior pastor.  Since 1999, Dr. Eggar has been the President and CEO of Awana Clubs International.  Awana provides enriching activities for kids.  Generally offered through local churches, Awana is a program where kids learn scriptures, play games, and fellowship together, while being mentored by older Christians.

Dr. Eggar earned his M.A. from LBU in 1979 and his Ph.D. in 2006.

Bill Gothard

In 2004, Bill Gothard earned his Ph.D. degree from LBU.  He is a conference speaker and the founder and president of Institute in Basic Life Principles; a non-profit corporation dedicated to to serving youth and families through God-ordained leaders.  His conferences focus on basic youth conflicts.

After 15 years of working with inner-city gangs, church youth groups, high school clubs, youth camps, and families in crisis, Bill wrote his master’s thesis on a youth program that eventually led to seven Biblical, non-optional principles of life.  These principles result in harmonious relationships, are based on the commands of Christ, and have been taught since 1965 in seminars around the world.

Thomas Ice

Dr. Ice is the Executive Director of the Pre-Trib Research Center in Washington, D.C. The Research Center was founded a few years ago by Tim LaHaye and Tommy Ice to research, teach, proclaim, and defend pre-tribulationism.

Tommy has debated numerous people on the timing of the rapture.  He has also written a large number of papers that are available here.  In addition to his debates and papers, Dr. Ice has written "The Coming Cashless Society" and he has co-authored "Charting the End Times, The Second Coming Under Attack: Why We Must Take the Second Coming Literally, The Return: Christ 's Second Coming & the End Times, Ready to Rebuild: The Imminent Plan to Build the Last Days Temple, Prophecy Watch, Overrun by Demons, A Holy Rebellion: A Strategy for Spiritual Warfare," and several others.

Grant Jeffrey

Dr. Jeffrey is recognized as one of the leading teachers on Bible prophecy and an intelligent defense of our Christian faith.  He is the chairman of Frontier Research Publications, Inc., a leading publisher of books, tapes and videos.  Grant’s 18 best selling books have resulted in more than four million sales during the last thirteen years.  Numerous publishers including Bantam, Harper Collins, Zondervan, Word, Tyndale have printed his books in 23 languages throughout the world.  He appears frequently on TV and radio throughout the world. Grant and his wife Kaye have been in full time ministry since 1988.

His passion for research led him to acquire a personal library of over 7,000 books on prophecy, theology and biblical archeology.  Grant studied at Philadelphia College of the Bible before entering the business world.  He acquired a Chartered Life Underwriter degree in 1982 (University of Toronto Extension Program).  In the late 1990's he earned his Master's Degree and a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University.  Grant was the editor of the Marked Reference Prophecy Study Bible, published by Zondervan Publishing Corporation.  This project was his doctoral dissertation.  Prior to entering full time ministry, Grant was a professional, financial planner for 18 years with his own brokerage company in western Canada.

He is the author of eighteen best selling books including: "Armageddon," "Heaven," "Messiah," "Apocalypse," "Prince of Darkness," "Final Warning," "Signature of God," "The Handwriting of God," "Flee The Darkness," "By Dawn’s Early Light," "The Spear of Tyranny," "The Mysterious Bible Codes," "Jesus: The Great Debate," "Surveillance Society," "Journey Into Eternity," and his latest book, "Triumphant Return."  His lifetime of dedicated research on eschatology is reflected in the Marked Reference Prophecy Study Bible, the most comprehensive Prophecy Study Bible ever published.

Chuck Missler

Chuck Missler received his Ph.D. from Louisiana Baptist University in 1999.  Dr. Missler is also a Naval Academy graduate who quickly rose to the upper ranks of the corporate world as CEO of several international high-technology corporations.  He combines a background in intelligence, cryptanalysis and informational sciences with over 30 years of Biblical teaching and research.

Leaving the corporate world eight years ago to start his own full-time ministry, Koinonia House, Chuck is now recognized as a leading expository Bible teacher.  His daily radio programs, 66/40 and The "Missler Report," plus his weekly live-talk radio program "Missler Online," air in over 80 national and international, radio and internet markets.  His monthly intelligence journal, "Personal Update," reaches over 150,000 subscribers and his AudioCentral.com broadcast web site and ChristianBooks.com online store are on the leading edge of Christian communications technology.

Charles Pack

Charles was awarded an Honorary D.D. from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary for his long and fruitful, television and conference, prophecy ministry.  He is the author of 27 booklets, chiefly pertaining to prophecy.  He has been in the ministry for 55 years.

Paige Patterson

Dr. Paige Patterson is the president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  He has been elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention twice.  He is the author of many books.

Dr. Patterson is the former president of Criswell College, where he served for 17 years.  He also served as the president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary for 11 years.

Mike Randall

Dr. Randall is the President of Baptist Bible College and the Baptist Bible Graduate School of Theology in Springfield, Missouri.  For over half a century, Baptist Bible College has trained some of the most successful pastors, missionaries, youth ministers, music ministers, Christian school teachers, and other Christian workers in the world.

Mike has been in full-time ministry for over 38 years (22 years as a pastor).  On both the state and national level, he has held numerous offices in the BBFI.  Dr. Randall has worked at Baptist Bible College for 14 years; serving seven years as a faculty member and seven years as the school’s Vice President.  Since 1995, he has been the editor of the Baptist Bible Tribune and The Baptist Preacher.  He has had training, experience, and success as a pastor, teacher, administrator, author, and editor.

Dr. Randall received a D.Lit. degree from LBU.

Chuck Andrews

Chuck Andrews is a faculty member at Master's Divinity School.  He holds a B.A. and an M.A. from Louisiana Baptist University.

Greg Baker

Dr. Baker is the Pastor of Faith Way Baptist Church and the President of Faith Way Baptist College of Canada.  He began serving the Lord with Faith Way in 1987.

The church and college facilities are situated just east of metropolitan Toronto in the town of Ajax.  The college exists to provide post-secondary training for pastors, teachers in Christian schools, missionaries, church workers, and music ministers.  The college purposes to develop the devotional and spiritual life of the student, to encourage each student to develop a mastery of the content of the Bible, and to help the student to develop Christian character.

Greg holds an Ed.D. degree from Louisiana Baptist University.

Charles Bonner

Dr. Bonner is the Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Selah, Washington.  He holds an M.A. in Biblical Studies and an M.Div. from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has some resources and audio tapes available on his web site.

Jeri Carlin

Ms. Carlin is the Vice President of the Therapon Institute.  TI is a distance learning, Christian college in Texas.  She is currently part of Therapon's licensed, pastoral counseling faculty.

Jeri completed her under graduate work and graduate work at Louisiana Baptist University; earning a Master's Degree in Psychology and Christian Counseling.

Dr. Couch is a graduate and the vice-president of the Scofield Graduate School and Seminary in Modesto, California.  He is currently part of Tim LaHaye's Pre-Trib Study Research Group.  Dr. Couch holds many advanced degrees.  Among them, is a Doctorate degree in Theology from Louisiana Baptist University. 

Daniel Dorim Kim

Dr. Daniel Dorim Kim holds an Ed.D. from Louisiana Baptist University.  He is the President of the American College of Medical Technology in Gardena, California.

The central mission of American College of Medical Technology is to provide an educational career program designed to prepare students for employment in the allied health fields.  In support of this philosophy, the College is innovative in its curriculum, seeking to offer programs where jobs are high in demand.  The College is employment-intensive in its focus, and responsive to employers' needs.  The College's philosophy is that the students' interests are always the highest priority.

Jason Gastrich

Dr. Jason Gastrich has earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University.  He is the Director of Jesus Christ Saves Ministries.  JCSM is committed to leading people into a life-changing and productive relationship with Jesus Christ.  Dr. Gastrich shares the gospel with unbelievers and encourages the saved believers in Christ with a weekly devotional message that is emailed, broadcasted, and podcasted.

Part of Dr. Gastrich's ministry is to atheists and skeptics.  He engages in written (casual and formal), telephone, and public debates.  Dr. Gastrich has written a book called, "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained."  This book clarifies over 3,000 Bible difficulties and is being used as a resource for pastors, teachers, skeptics, and seekers.  He has also written a book on creating a successful internet ministry called, "Maximizing the Internet: 12 Keys to Success."

Bob Glaze

Dr. Bob Glaze holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University. Since 1996, he has served as general manager of Southwest Radio Church Ministries.  He also serves as a trustee and officer.  Bob is an occasional radio host and writer for the ministry.  He has traveled extensively abroad to Europe, the Middle East, China, and Mongolia, and serves as missionary and host of Christian tours for the ministry.

Dr. Glaze has written "Angels: A Historical and Prophetic Study" and "Marginal Mysteries."

Theron Jackson

Mr. Jackson is the Special Assistant to the Chancellor of Southern University in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He holds a Master's degree from LBU.

Theron was a mayoral candidate in 1998.  He was a District G candidate in 2002.  He is currently on the board of directors for the YMCA, Sci-Port Discovery Center, and the Volunteers for Youth Justice and Alliance for Education.  Additionally, Mr. Jackson is the Chairman of the board for the YMCA Carver branch and Second Vice President of the Caddo Council on Aging.

Lou Lander

Rev. Lander is a part of the faculty at the Rochester Institute of Christian Education.  Since 1979, RICE has been a Bible school designed to train pastors and laymen for more effective inner-city ministry and witness and serve more effectively.

Lou holds a Master's degree in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University.

J. Otis Ledbetter

J. Otis Ledbetter is the senior pastor of Sonrise Church in Clovis, California and the president of Clovis Christian Schools.  He is also chairman of the board of Heritage Builders, a Focus on the Family organization, where Dr. Ledbetter leads and teaches workshops.  These events are designed to teach parents and grandparents the emotional, spiritual, and social components of the heritage they can give to the next generation, based on Christian principles.

Dr. Ledbetter has been featured on Thomas Road Baptist Church's Angel Network show, The 700 Club, the Moody Broadcasting Network, and several other television and radio outlets.  Plus, in addition to writing a number of books, he has written numerous magazine articles and is a frequent speaker at a variety of conferences.

Dr. Ledbetter holds a Ph.D. in education from Louisiana Baptist University.

Jim McGowan

Mr. McGowan is a Professor at Tyndale Theological Seminary and Biblical Institute.

Jim has a Master's degree in Theological Studies from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently completing work toward a Th.D. in Systematic Theology from Tyndale Theological Seminary.  He is a founding member of Original Word Ministries; a ministry designed to provide biblical language resources to pastors and teachers.  He is also a member of the Conservative Theological Society whose purpose is the preservation and promotion of Biblical, conservative, evangelical, pre-millennial theology from a literal, historical, grammatical hermeneutic.

Roy Wallace

Dr. Wallace has been in the ministry for over forty years. Over the last thirty-two years he has pastored four churches.  Prior to pastoring he was an associate pastor/youth leader. While pastoring he served as adjunct professor at Baptist Christian College and Baptist Bible Graduate School of Theology.  He currently serves as full-time Academic Dean of LBU/LBTS and as Dean of the Bible department of Louisiana Baptist University.  He has served in several positions in state and local fellowships of the BBFI.  He was on the committee of 45 of the BBFI for about fifteen years.  Dr. Wallace has authored seven textbooks and written thirty study outline booklets on both the Old and New Testament.

Dr. Roy Wallace has received the M.Div. and Th.D. degrees from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary.

Carl Warden

Dr. Warden is a faculty member in the Counseling department at Bethany Bible College and Seminary.  He holds a Ph.D. from Louisiana Baptist University.

Robert Whitley

Dr. Whitley holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from LBU.  He has written a book called, "You Were Created: How To Find Peace in a Chaotic World."

Robert served his country as a jet pilot in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army Reserves.  He is currently an Aircrew Program Manager on the Boeing 767 with the Federal Aviation Administration.  He is also a Chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol.

Deborah Woods

Ms. Woods is a Hospice Chaplain at the Northwest Regional Hospice.  She has earned an M.Div. degree from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary.  The Hospice's mission is to allow terminally ill patients and families access to increasingly high quality, in-home hospice/palliative care services in an environment of respect and compassion.

Debbie Yow

Debbie Yow is the Athletic Director at the University of Maryland.  She earned a Ph.D. from Louisiana Baptist University.  She coached basketball at the University of Kentucky, Oral Roberts, and the University of Florida.  She is the only Division I coach to take three, previously unranked teams into the Top 20.
